I joined the Rev. Lartey Adotey Memorial School for their 6th graduation ceremony

Overview

Today I joined the Rev. Lartey Adotey Memorial School for their 6th graduation ceremony. I was very impressed at the display of exceptional talent by the students, especially with the wares and handicrafts. This reinforces my belief that if we invest in a proper all round education for the future generation, we can make Ghana great and strong. Whilst addressing the students, I admonished them to emulate the examples of some of the great leaders of our land like our late former Veep, Paa Kwasi Amissah Arthur, whose discipline and commitment to country and personal growth was unsurpassed, as exhibited by his routine gym regimen. It is also very important to recognise the significant role reading plays in the economic and overall progress of a country. As writer Frederick Douglass said, “once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” We must commit to encourage our children to cultivate the habit of reading. I would also like to acknowledge the headmistress, Mrs. Georgina Addington Frempong, and staff of Rev. Lartey Adotey Memorial School for their commitment to the education of the students. Thus, it is worthy to note that last year, the school recorded a 100 percent pass rate at the BECE, and we hope the same feat will be repeated this year. #TogetherWeBuild
